Yep, striking similarities to when Sagan was considered the biggest threat, except now there's two of them...

Sagan's biggest wins IMHO was when he went alone from the group of favourites: Flanders + Roubaix

Either one of these two will need to go for it from way out to stand a chance...

Add Richmond to the list.

But they'll also have to figure out that these other little attacks and accelerations they do during the race takes the sting out of the legs.. and learn that when you make your attack it has to stick..doesn't help you attack multiple times during the race and then have nothing left towards the end. Sagan's Flanders Roubaix and Richmond attacks are examples...attacks at the right time.[emoji106]

Boonen and Cancellara as examples too..their attacks were at the right time as well...

That replay of the Richmond win is one of my ultimate guilty pleasures to rewatch. Definitely worth mentioning it in the same class as Flanders+Roubaix

But besides Richmond the other 2 weren't exactly solo solo .. Flanders - Kwaito attacked and Sagan joined with Sep bridging but Kwaito being the lighter rider couldn't stay with them and Sep well shame he came to a standstill and Sagan then left him behind.... Roubaix - Sagan had teammates also disrupting the chase right when he attacked .... these races are seldomly just as simple as a solo attack with a lot happening behind...so you need a bit of everything to make them work.

But as with Richmond he could open the gap on the......wait for it....... the downhills and GVA reluctancy (no surprise) to work with Eddie B at Richmond. Roubaix he was just a monster.. I recall Cancellara saying that the way he took the corners is also how he could extend his lead...

Winning a bike race is never as easy as just bridging a gap or attacking solo.

MVDP is still a baby and WVA is although a bit older than him not been in Road racing that long..and they are seeing that just being the strongest on the day won't neccessary mean you will win these classic races..

Going to be very weird without the rowdy crowds on the iconic climbs...

Question remains as to whether that will be the actual case...

I think there may be less people, but you can't really keep them away, can you?

It will be difficult but it is possible to restrict access by just removing the beer tents[emoji6].. [emoji848]

That is a fall. Good grief

Pascal just clipped his front wheel going for that gap, probably going to be a DQ[emoji2356]

It was a messy sprint even before that..good strong win by Ewan who is still the fastest guy on 2 wheels.

Yep it will get technical as Pascal technically hadn't started his sprint....but very sorry for the rider it looked very sore hope he isn't too seriously injured but yeah a DQ would be justified. Edited by Gen
