I am about to pull the trigger on a 4iiii power meter. I just need some more advice. I do power based interval sessions with a coach on my IDT and i use Training Peaks. I will use the Power Meter only over weekends when i do my outrides, 3 - 4 hour sessions, how much will the use of a Power Meter really benefit me? The outside sessions does not have specific "goals" it just gives avg. Heartrate for example...will i get the full benefit of a PM ??

I love riding with a PM both inside and out. After buying my first unit I now have one on every bike I own!

PM in my mind is much better than riding in HR. You will definitely appreciate having it outdoors too.

I also assume that your specific training you are doing is leading up to some sort of race or adventure? I also assume that would be outdoors. So surly when that time comes it will be a big advantage to be able to ride to the numbers you know you can. Will also be a big help in making g sure you measure your effort accordingly.

So how long before we can see the result of this price drop in South African stores?

As well as the 2nd hand market?

My sister needs one urgently, so any advice on how to land one here at that price would be awesome!

How urgent is urgent? And is that price applicable in UK?

The funny thing is, according to the press release, it is 299USD/299EUR/275GBP. All of those prices mean different things in ZAR.

URGENT is relative, actually. She can use my Stages in the meantime, but would ideally buy one right now.

I might have located something locally for her close to that price, but checking to see whether it is legit. I suspect Stages did prep the retailers beforehand and some of them decided to get a move on by putting things on sale.

I see Chain Reaction is already pricing things aggressively.
