Conversion of a Specialized rumour to 11 speed or alternative options

Hi All,

My Wife has a specialized rumour comp. Currently running a 2x10 sram set up on an XO crank. The big ring is 34T. The problem is that she runs out of gears on the longer trips with the standard 11-36 cassette. I was considering changing so that we can run a cassette with a 10 tooth small cog on as a 34-10 is a similar ratio to what you have on a 38-11. The problem with camber front derailleur is it cant be adjusted to work on a 38T due to way it is mounted (see picture attachedpost-69554-0-41638700-1483092071.png). So therefore was considering to upgrade to sram 11 speed at back because of 10 tooth small cog. Shimano only comes with 11 tooth cog.

Questions:

Are there mods on the rear cassette to give accomdate 10T small cog on current 10 speed?

Has someone found a way to modify front derailleur mounting with similar setup to accommodate the bigger front rings?

If not what would be requirements to convert to 11 speed at back other than the obvious? ie can we still use 2x10 front derailleur etc. (freebody is 11speed compatible)

Not all 11 speed free -bodies takes a 10. Only a XD driver does.

XD drivers don't take normally a ten speed cassette.

So I guess you will have to change the current free-body to accommodate a 11 speed cassette with a 10?

Hi Niel McCoy,

I know of someone who had a similar problem on a 2015 Rumor Elite. She had the front derailleur changed to one specced to fit up to a 39 tooth chainring. A SRAM X9 2x10 LO DM S3 39T bottom pull to be exact. Then she upsized her chainrings to a 38T and 26T, I believe.

Also e*thirteen make a 10 speed cassette that goes down to a 9 tooth that should work on the existing freehub cassette body. I have never used one but maybe someone else can comment.
