Look at the Kona Hei hei Supreme dual frame.

The frame with shock weighs only about 2kg's and is a XC dualie frame with only 2.5" travel at the back

If its a really cool XC frame you're after, get hold of JL-Dam from Commencal - they have a team issue VIP Meta4 dualsusp frame - stunning in pearl white and gold, real euro quality.

and on special if I am not mistaken... adverts here on the hub.

the mongoose canaan is not heavy - i don't know it's exact weight but it's certainly a lot lighter than the anthem.

aren't commencals very heavy bikes? i know michh's is pretty heavy despite all teh lightweight components she has on it

anthem and trances 2 are in the R15000-R16000 band; the next ones up are in the R20000-R21000 band.

Hi Slowpoke, Just remember that MichH rides a Meta 5.5 which is a 5.5" travel bike more suited towards trail/freeride, but definitely useable in a XC environment. The Meta 5.5 is actually one of the lightest bikes in its category.
