I'll have a go; which part? If it's near one of the MyCiti stops, there's a slight possibility.

 

I'll give a little background as to why I have some access.

 

Around two years ago (May 2015), I was using Uber into town and the MyCiti bus back to the Table View area. I'd had a hip replacement and I wasn't cleared to drive (or ride).

 

At the end of one bus ride, I stepped off and slid between the bus and the platform. They'd removed the step which guards the gap between the bus exit doors and the platform, without placing any warning signs.

As my step length was shorter due to the still healing hip I stepped into the unguarded void.

Fortunately the only damage was a bruise and a scrape on the side of my leg.

 

The MyCiti staff on duty at the stop came to my aid swiftly and ensured I wasn't severely damaged.

 

I mentioned there were no warning signs/announcements as passengers disembarked. I was asked if I wished to make a formal complaint.

After a very amenable discussion I was offered the names of a few higher ups. All I asked was that repairs and signage were installed.

I had no wish to take it further, I wasn't hurt and the signage was installed almost immediately.

 

I did contact those higher in the organisation and was offered a formal route to compensation, all I asked was that they try to ensure a similar incident doesn't happen again.

 

They did ask me and seemed to be very sincere that if I had any issues in the future to please get in contact.

 

So I did...

That happens everywhere, and they do it at speed. Never mind them having no concern about their passengers, but they also putting all other road users at risk.

I dont understand when the traffic department, government is gonna address this issue.

Getting part time cops maybe (like the outsurance points whatever at the corners) at these hot spots and writing out tickets could possibly work.

Fark! I never travel that way in the morning thank goodness.

there has been a very substantial shift in how the taxis have been driving the greater Table View area for about a year now .... it is almost as if a new association or taxi boss has taken over, and has instructed the drivers to just take over the roads, no matter the consequences.
