So i took a wider saddle and put it on my spinner just to check it out, my legs/knees hurt all over. My question now with the wider saddle must the seat post be dropped or must it be set higher? Please help!!

where exactly is the pain ? front back left right of the knee? both the same?

I would really recommend getting a full bike fit. The wider saddle is now supporting different parts of your body, and your muscles and joints aren't used to being engaged in this new way...

But to be safe, having a bike fit means you'll pregent long term injury if something is wrong. But get it check out, joint and muscle pain after a saddle change isn't normally common.

Regarding saddle width, I have read often that to wide a saddle will cause chafing, but where does it chafe? I have a 155mm saddle that has been pretty comfortable, till today, it did NOT agree with me today, it felt like it was chafing my butt cheeks, like the transition area from thigh to butt cheek, it was really REALLY uncomfortable and actually ruined the ride a little

Good day, I went to the specialized store today and sat on their pressure pad and they recommended a 155mm seat, I then went to CWC and on their pressure pad my big bum measured 140mm across seat bones, should I then aim for a seat around the 155mm as recommended by Spez salesman or 142mm by CWC salesman as I read sime time ago that I should add 20-35mm onto seat bone width?

Why do you want a new saddle? If you have one that works and it is broken or sagging just replace it with the same. Never change just for the sake of change.

I have spent huge ZARS in saddles only to go back to my trusty Arione. No that is what I ride and have ridden for the last 10 years.

Edit: If I have been off the bike for a month or 2 it takes a week to break my ass back in but then it is good for 400km rides.

I think he might have found something that works over the past 3 years.
