travisza Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Planning a ride for Saturday and just want to double check that the road on google maps exists and can be ridden.... Riding out towards Magalies and then towards Harties on the R560...before getting all the way to Harties it looks like there is a right turn and a road towards the R400 (Satellite road)...anyone familiar with this? Worst case I get there and I have to go long way round to Harties first but I'd like to know before I head out. Thanks.

Where is the best (read safe) place to part and leave the car? Ideally not too far away, as I would rather spend my time riding the hill, than riding there and back.

AndreR Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Travisza, if you are not refering to the connection via Hekpoort, then the next connection between the R560 and Satelite road is the right turn just before you get to Skeerpoort (the little village just before Van Gaalens). It is a dirt road in good condition, not tar. Those are the only two public connections to Satelite road, otherwise keep going on the R560 and then make a right opposite Van Gaalen, and the road will take you past Pecan Wood, up the hill and you will get back to the Satelite Roaf
