I have a Giant Contact SL saddle on my road bike and on my mountain bike and it must be the most comfortable saddle that I have used in years. Just sold my Spez Power saddle as the Giant beats it hands down imho.

Just a quick question. Does the hole in the middle of the saddle do anything for comfort, or is it just a weight saving thing?

To me, the hole in the middle is VERY uncomfortable.

The theory behind the hole is that it relieves pressure on your tjommie.  Better bloodflow warra warre.

I could not feel my tackle after an hour's ride on the Selle Italia Flight with the hole.

You have to try out saddles.  Fizik has test saddles.  I know Selle San Marco also supplies test saddles.

I have had many saddles over the years.

My favourites are still the Fizik Arione and now the Fabric Scoop.

Very comfy.

I have 3 different saddles on 3 bikes and good quality bibs...the width...location and angle will make or break the comfort of any saddle or quality bib.

i use a saddle with a slot in the middle for long rides on the road bike...one with no gap for short rides on the other road bike and the mtb it makes no difference you shouldnt be sitting all the time...unless you are new to cycling...in that case you just need to toughen up.

as mentioned in lots of threads...find one that works for you

Where can you get Fizik test saddles? Haven't seen any shops registered online, and don't think my lbs does that

A saddle is so personal - even if you get your sitbones measured etc etc etc, all will depend on whether the saddle suits you.

I'm supposed to be most comfortable on a Fizik Antares (based on my measurements) but I bought one and I have hated it. My brother in law says it's the best saddle he's ever used.

I'm not supposed to fit on a Selle Italia SLR flow (according to the Selle Italia methodology, another shape of the Selle Italia saddles suits me). But the SLR/SLS flow has been the most comfortable saddle for me (for over 10 years now).

All depends on your own particular physiology.

Some good reviews for the Rapide Saddle, I will try and borrow one from Kiwi to see if it works.

Anyone here ever rode one of the Brooks Saddles? Especially the Cambium ones? I would like to give one a try and understanding that they can last a lifetime I may be willing to spend the R2k, but I like the fact that the Rapide Saddle is so cheap (and still good quality).
