What a joke - cycling partner was pulled from his bike next to me mid morning at this location. Called the police while he received medical attention and 15min later, still no police to be seen (although the perpetrator was arrogantly standing a short distance away watching the whole episode).

Nothing beats some visible policing

this is the same nonsense that goes on at masi and ocean view in fishoek

 

small self contained community with two access roads but the local cops can never find anyone or have any crime intelligence (scuse the pun) about who in this small space is doing all the crime or where all the stolen stuff goes

 

soon we are going to need a support vehicle with a gun turret on just to cycle on the roads (would be handy for idiot motorists also )

I got attacked in this very spot almost a decade ago. Same modus operandi, same useless policing. With me it was 'steek hom' as one of the two had a knife. Luckily my back pocket ripped as he was trying to pull me from the bike and I managed to stay on the bike...

I got thrown by a brick here a while ago. Luckily it didn't hit me. Guys were standing behind a fence.

I'm planning on doing a long road ride which will have me coming from Kuilsriver side down the M12 onto the R310 and then turning onto the R44 heading towards Somerset West.  Is this section reasonably safe?  If not, what other options are there?  I was specifically coming in that way to avoid going past the dodgy area around the bridge.
