My Queue this morning.

Bent hanger on the little flash. Its a 26er small, my sons bike.

The SI has a creaking BB.

Anyhow the work stand has been a revelation to me, buy one, make one either way it will make working on your bikes a pleasure.

Here we go.

I used an old sash clamp from woodworking, a Pipe clamp will work as well. to make the part that clamps the seat post I used 38 mm steel tubing, just section it lengthways. Line it with heavy duty dirtbike inner tube as pictured above.

I have removed the "quick clamp" from the CWC washing stand, and now use it on the workshop stand in the garage .

And it can slide back into the wash-stand in 2 seconds come wash time ....

PS - I am using some NAM polish for the bikes .... the summer dust does not stick to the paint work .... brush off the excess dust with a long bristle brush .... wipe down with a damp cloth and the frame is CLEAN.  Then a few minutes to clean the chain properly ....  As there is no running water involved this gets done in the luxury of my "man cave .. bike haven ... stereo sound ... forget the world ....my space ...."  :whistling:   Winter time the wash-stand will be used again to shed the mud outside my two-wheeled-palace ...

Really enjoying the home made stand !!  Though I may add - I have since started using the CWC quick-clamp with it.

Nice place to teach the next generation about caring for their bikes -

Off course it is also VERY handy when you "get" volunteered to help somebody restore a bike for a commuter ...

The bike which was to be restored had spent a few nights too many out in the rain -

maybe more than a "few nights" ....

But I knew of another bike that was retired prematurely -

Thankfully both had blue forks .... so all I would need would be a front rim ...  :whistling:

R235 later the project could start

Sadly the donor bike was not well maintained either .... "grease" was CAKED onto the gears and chain .... strip down and rebuild time ....

stripped down and cleaned all cables and housings, used Shimano spray lube for the cables.

Checked the gear settings.

Then a bit of hacking and borrowing from the old bike to get the front brakes working.

And one more commuter ready to provide its master with trouble free transport
