Here's a thought - why not start a separate thread on suicide and depression (and hopefully cycling) and keep the much valued discussion out of this thread?

Not all suicides are severely depressed.

mental disorders (bipolar, depression, schizophrenia etc etc) play a significant role in someone's choice to commit suicide..a terminal illness also plays a part...as does post traumatic stress.. take religious suicide out of the equation and yes you will find  examples of purely stress related suicide...but then that is impacting on your brain function too.

I agree - although it has been discussed before on here....just cant find the thread..maybe it was lost in the big crash

No need to be sorry. I think discussion about depression and suicide, amongst other related aspects, is a good thing. It's one of those desperately important areas that, with an open-mind (not a Hub speciality :ph34r: ), it can only help to hear other peoples' views.
