MTB Trails in Clarens

H guys,

 

We are visiting Clarens this weekend and keen to hit some beginner/intermediate trails.

 

Anyone with info around good trails please may you advise?

Clarens Extreme, on the edge of town, will sell you maps/access bands for their trails. I really enjoyed it, well worth it IMHO

Do be careful though... it is quite easy to get mixed up on the trails and we eventually wound up on the hiking trail. Beautiful area of the world though and a stunning place to ride.

Got lost (er sidetracked) in those trails up on the mountain behind Clarens a few weeks ago.... some of the trails built for the Asburton race are sick.... eventually ended up on hiking trails and hiking our way down the mountain on the other side... best day on (and off) the bike in a long long time. 

 

Highly recommend it to anyone.... entry to trails is at the back of Clarens next to water reservoir, follow the signs and then follow your nose... if you get lost its not hard to find your way back.

A trail called Toeka . Easy dirt roads , about 40 kms. Very nice scenery. Map also at Clarence Extreme.

Thanks everybody - did the Village Loop and part of the Troeka. It was damn cold but very nice experience!

 

If you ever visit Clarens - go to Clarens Xtreme - the guys there are super helpful and knowledgeable on tracks.

Clare's Extreme were very helpful. Short but intense ride. Awesome!

Best thing to do is to pop into Clarens Extreme when you get there. They are very informative and friendly.
