Wasn't there a stand at this year's nearly-Argus Expo with a few of these? Looked interesting, though the bikes they had on them didn't even have their gears adjusted properly - hard to show off your product when the gears are jumping...

Looking at their site, the powermeter part of the trainer sounds similar to that of the Elite Drivo, using optical sensors, etc.?

But the price... I don't see how they can compete with the established players, when they are significantly more expensive than even the Neo. Let's be honest, pretty much everyone who gets a smart trainer just wants to ride on Zwift - so their own training platform doesn't seem like a massive draw to me

It was launched around Feb this year, and there has been a couple of articles on it in several 'lifestyle' magazines (none in cycling related magazines that I can recall).

RRP was R29995 at launch, and as far as I know its still the same.

The power sensor is a standard torque sensor, as with most trainers, the optical sensors are only used to compare L/R pedal strokes (similar to the spinscan on Wattbike/Computrainer/etc). If memory serves, its done via measurements of acceleration/deceleration during the relevant part of the pedal stroke.

As Penta Medical Systems are the sole supplier (as with other Technogym stuff in SA), you are not likely to see many of these around, and certainly not at your LBS, or other online shops

Smokes that is expensive!

pity, really looks like a solid piece of kit

Jip! No way I'd pay that much. I also don't think the uptake will be great in SA, its just too expensive
