Zorro5614 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 I am not a strong climber, but a 34t and 11-42 is more than enough. On the 42 you can rather get off and walk
SuperDS Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 I'm on my second 34T AB Oval ring matched with 11-46. Works perfectly for me as my XL frame needs the 46 to go up and the 34 to keep up with momentum down.
billygoat0523 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 i'm a rubbish climber (in this crowd). 32 tooth and 10-50 at the back.
Kalahari Vegmot Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 Who's the guy running a 38? It's not me...
billygoat0523 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 probably BrandonF. He's right up there with Kulhavy
BrandonF_ Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 probably BrandonF. He's right up there with KulhavyYou funny????.....and Why is there not a 24??..I also want to take part in this poll☹
Mr lee Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Mine going in this week for the change from 2x10 to 1x. I hate hills and they always get me but I decided on a 34 round and 11-42 as I ride quite a bit of flatish open off-road and still want some top end and thought it would be a good compromise either way! As was mentioned here before, if I can't pedal in the 42 then I'll just get off and walk
