As a few of you know I am in the process of acquiring my first singlespeed MTB, initially this would have been a bare bones build, but I cannot get my head and my heart to agree and slaughter my duel'y for parts.

I am a massive fan of Rapide', and have always had brilliant service from Kiwi!! However with Lyne making a splash in the more affordable market I am left with a hard choice.

Both brands have carbon bars for under R1000.00, both brands have stems for R399.00.

Does anyone have any experience with Lyne products that can give some insight?

Have rapide bars and a Lyne crankset. Both of the products are of brilliant quality and the service and support was excellent. Have never had them ship products so can't compare, but I know kiwi is supposed to have incredible turnaround time.

Good luck on a tough but enjoyable decision.

I have a Lyne dropper which is flawless along with brilliant personal service. From Rapide I have sunglasses, lube, a stem, an oval chain ring/chain/cassette with unbelievable personal service from Kiwi. Maybe use both!

I have ordered from Wayne a few times before. Currently run a stem, bars, seat and sunglasses from him. Flawless service and all my orders arrived within 24 hours from placing them.

Think I'll go with cranks from Lyne and bar, stem and seat from Rapide.

Local is lekke. Had my Lyne crank shipped to me in less then 2days after ordering. Happy chappie.

Are you happy with the Lyne crankset? I see that CWC has SLX M7000 cranksets on sale for the same price as the Lyne. If given the choice which would you choose?

I ended up going with Rapide seat and stem, with a KORE handlebar (simple reason for this it was purple and pretty!).

Cranks still running old LX, but will upgrade once the finances allow

For a dropper I'd say Lyne, for cockpit go with whoever's closest. Both are decent products from decent people with solid backup.
