Hi All

I am looking to get a 6v rear light which will work off a dynamo.

Does anybody know if there is something available locally?

The suppliers in Germany have a light available but it works out very expensive indeed whereas all I need is a decent 6v red light.  No bells and whistles and does not need to flash or dim etc.

Thanks

as in hub dynamo, or old school friction?

anything that takes 4x AA batteries would work.

Hub dynamo Supernova E3.

I am thinking the same as batteries go but not too many lights take 4 x 1.5v batts or am I wrong?

Just out of interest why would you go this route ?

There are those Chinese rear lights that work off 2 x AAA batteries.

They hardly draw any power as the batteries last a long time.

Then there's also the option of a re-chargeable light (rear or front).

I have a rear re-chargeable light and it also lasts long (at least 5hrs+ - haven't ever run it flat).

Fit and forget is the way I look at it.

I want to get away from batteries and have power banks, usb ports et al with many rechargeable lights available.

Battery lights never last long enough and replacements are just something extra to take with you.

I am not saying rechargeables  are not required.  On the contrary, I always take two with me at all times - front and back and will continue to do so.

Safety - knowing there is always a light on and do not have to worry about switching a light on with gloves.

And because I want to seen and I am lazy to "manage" my battery packs and lights.

i'm guessing he's got the front light and dynamo and wants to double up!

and this is pricey!

getting something that flashes is a)more effective and b)uses less power

I been dealing with these guys and they are truly the best overseas company I have ever dealt with.

I can get the post mount light in this model delivered to my door for R500 odd.  Good price indeed.  May just get the expander lens and other plug-ins for an upgrade.

I cannot reiterate what a pleasure it is dealing with these guys. (Expensive though)

ah ok, R500 and it looks proper quality last forever stuff. now you've made me go check out hub dynamoes again!

looks like you could get this brand for cheaper - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting/busch-muller-toplight-flat-s-linetec-plus-rear-dynamo-light/

otherwise, in the homebake easy  and cheap option i can only really see combining two of these working on 6V
