Momsem AL229 Vs Specra Comp

So i am looking at just buying a new bike after being messed around by people 'selling' their,....
I dont have a heap of money and just about all LBS's that I phone are not too interested in my few R's or just dont have anything available for my budget...

So I am left with buying one of these two online:

Momsem

Silverback

Biggest difference I see is the Momsem has an low end air fork and the Silverback has tubeless ready wheels.

If I factor in 2x new tyres and valves, rim strip its around R8000 for the momsem and if its just a couple of tyres and valves around the same for the Silverback at the end of the day...crazy money really for a low end bicycle but what can you do. 

I recently bought a lot of new parts for the 26in GT so those drivetrain parts can be used on either bike as all are 9 speed..such as chain, cassette, derailer and hollowtech crank....

And no. I cant afford more money....! Barely afford this but after quitting smoking and planning to cycle to work I wont feel too much of a dent.

So,..any opinions, anyone have one of the two bikes? Personally I quite like the Momsem, although the colour scheme could be a bit much!

In this case, I would say Momsen.

 

My main reason would be the fork. Yes it is a low end fork, but the XCR Air is not a bad fork at all. Much better than the XCR coil you are getting on the Silverback.

 

If you are not planning on upgrading forks anytime soon, I would go for the Air fork option now.

 

The rest seems to be very similar on both.

Swing past CycleLab's Megastore if you can. I think their clearance sale is still one. Might be able to get an awesome deal for the same moneys.

 

If I had to choose between these two, I'd go for the Momsen.

Bit far for me from Magalies! But the Silverback is the one they have on special, from 8999 to 6999.

Thanks, only a 8 speed though, plan is a 9speed so I can use the parts I recently bought when the ones on the new bike fall apart....
