1 x 11: Choosing the right ratios

Tony at what speed do you "spin out" ?

At around 30kph. I don't ride much tar or jeep track. I can usually freewheel faster than I can pedal on a downhill.

32T and 11-46, Sunrace rather than Shimano.

 

46 divided by 32T gives ratio of 0.70. This is slightly easier for climbing than:

 

42 divided by 30T giving ratio of 0.71.

 

42 with 32T gives ratio of 0.76 = no good for easy climbing.

 

I think for an 11-50 cassette you need to modify your derailer with a Goatlink or similar.

 

Or just go Eagle GX upgrade...

Ja I don't think the Netherlands counts in this case
