Frame (paint) design ideas? - Steel roadie

OK, so got my hands on this beauty, and some overenthusiastic elbow grease means she has lost the 4 layers of junk and is down to the bare metal, but needing some inspiration to really make her look good with a good paint job... Something more modern /  bright? Any suggestions?...

I thought so too, but the current plan is to try clean up an old set of Campag Atlanta 96 rims (which are silver already)... so too much silver leaving frame bare!

Why not go for a matt clear coat on the tubing and then a detailed colour for the lugs? For instance a subtle blue with blue chain bolts?

Why not a pale grey for headtube, downtube, seattube and chainstays. Pearly white for the seatstays, dropouts and toptube. Chrome or pearly white fork.

I'm saying print the actual picture that many times and just doodle colours and shapes    Just added your little skull there for fun but 45-60 skulls looks very sick on your SS!

Supposedly an Alpina... really well made - normally paint is used to hide the flaws in workmanship, but not in this case!

I like something like this. I found an old design and used the same colours as a roundel with the front hub as the origin.
