Lesotho Routes

I am hoping someone can help with a +-50km off road mtb route from the top of Sani Pass into Lesotho and back to the top of Sani..

 

The plan is we will be ride up Sani Pass and stay the night at the backpackers lodge, then want to do a day's ride in Lesotho and back down the pass in the afternoon.

 

Any route suggestions or maps would be welcome.

If no one knows of any singletrack, I have heard that the main road up Black Mountain is beautiful. And that the ride down is super fast. A friend reached 101km/h. It might have since been tarred though, I'm not sure.

Get in touch with the guys from www.detourtrails.co.za, they run tours and enduros in the area, there is one in two weeks time where the last stage runs down Sani Pass. They do seem a bit secretive about routes though, but might be willing to help.

Brah, it's Lesotho. You see a donkey path heading in the rough direction of your desire and you bomb down it!

You'll struggle to find a 50 k day route that you can ride from Sani top - the area is fairly underpopulated with not too many paths around. Sani top is also in a depression in the mountains, before you get anywhere inland, you're looking at a massive hike a bike. Your best bet is probably to ride Black Mountain pass as previously suggested.
