Have I handled this correctly????I recently purchased a new bike, within 2 months I notices several cracks on the rear wheel. I returned it to the shop of purchase and the wheel was replaced by the agent without question. The problem is that the replacement wheel was a different model to the original (although very similar in spec and quality) and has a completely different colour scheme. I now have 2 different coloured wheels on my bike. The shop has told me that I shouldn?t complain and the agent for the wheel has told me to try and accept ?as is?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

All discussions with the agent have been amicable to date and I have simply requested a new set of decals to at least, have both the front and back wheels, a similar colour scheme. The agent promised to come back to me as to the availability of these decals, but after 2 weeks I have had no reply.

I?m beginning to feel that I should have been more assertive and demanded the correct wheel or demanded a new matching front wheel as well.

How would my fellow Hubbers handle this? Am I legally entitled to demand the correct wheel or has the agent fulfilled the warranty requirements by providing me with a ?similar? wheel? There was no booklet or any warranty conditions given to me when I bought the bike.

Should I just leave it and accept ?as is? or start fighting?

wtf?! there is like NO FREAKEN way I would be seen dead riding to different wheels, I would not have taken the "new" wheel in the first place, I would have told him there and then it's not aesthetically pleasing to have 2 different wheels and is soooo not going to work for me.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

What bike/brand of bike is it?

I don't want to discredit the agent yet. I will wait to see what the outcome is first.

something similar happened to me except I got them to replace the other wheel as well, it is not acceptable for them to give you the wrong colour wheel and tell you to just accept it.

Unless theres a valid reason, like the original set is out of production, or the colour scheme is no longer produced or something along those lines, they should be able to get you one.

Probably, they dont have stock of the original colour wheel and so just replaced it with whatever they have to keep you on the road, in a way, they are not obligated to supply a specific colour, just a wheel which they have done, otherwise I cant see why they wouldnt just swop it.

If they dont have it, well I cant see what you can do unless you are prepared to wait until they can get one, you can scream and shout and make your life unpleasant, but if its not available, its not available.

Personally, I would just take it and call it a day.

Isn't this a bit like having 3 19" mags and 1 14" ? Nope if the manufacturer does not have stock he is obliged to upgrade both wheels especially if the fault was due to a manufacturing defect.

The purchaser afterall did not only buy 1 wheel. Personally I would get really assertive. Nice guys finish last. Tell them you are on your way down there to show them exactly how a wheel can be shoved right where it fits.

In fact ask to speak to the MD and pose this question? Do you ride 2 different types of wheels?
