The Frenchman is limping as he descends from his bike, and it looks as though he was caught up in that earlier crash. Gallopin was also a crash victim at the French championships, where he fractured a rib.

Lawson Craddock has been sitting in last position in the peloton for much of the day, but the Texan looks about as comfortable as could be expected in the circumstances, and seems set to survive another day on this Tour de France. Craddock fractured his shoulder blade on stage 1.
