Thanks. Where does the trail start?

Is there a link to see the trail?

Do a segment explore in this area.  Below is the segment but there are quite a few options

There has been some developments in the Stanford Gansbaai area - about a 45min drive from Hemel and Aarde, and even shorter if you are holidaying in the Voelklip area.

Stanford has some fun routes and Beloftebos has a nice little single track route.

Lomond Wine Estate (about 10km outside Gansbaai on the B'bos Elim rd) has a few options too.  The black routes are tougher than what they appear to be - so the 32km will probably ride like a 45km if you are not very fit.  It is a beautiful ride with outstanding views and really fun sections. It will test your climbing legs too.  You can divide the black route into a few options with option 3 being the the most fun (my opinion :)

A new shorter option has just been cut (8.2km) that has a fun single track and jeep track climb and then bombing down part of the black route.  Fun berms and little jumps.  The whoop section before the bluegums is especially good - 3 fast berms that drop you into the 'forest' with a little drop, hip and some more bits and pieces to keep you smiling.

The venue is also very pleasant on the banks of the Kraaibosch dam, with good wines and a cheese platter (don't know if they are planning to offer more during the season) and beer on tap.  Very chilled way to finish a your ride.  I think the permit is R40.

Hi all

I'll be in Gordons Bay for part of my holidays and would like to join a MTB ride in Hermanus,

please add me to your group 082 712 5081

Anyone familiar with the Highlands road? Was thinking of doing a loop from Hermanus out on the Highlands road and then back through Botrivier. I'll be on a road bike, but it looks like the 10km stretch of dirt road is fine to ride on a road bike.

Not sure if it's safe to ride that road alone though?

you will struggle on highlands on a road bike its a bit rough in parts (its safe but I don't think its a good idea on a road bike unless you running CX tires

go karwyderskraal loop instead or up hemel en aarde to Caledon
