mecheng89 Posted January 16, 2018 Share Afternoon Hubbers! To those who own or have owned a Powertap wheelset, specifically the G3 ANT+ model, how does one do a software update? I have downloaded, just for the sake of the update, Poweragent. Then I remove the G3 cap from my rear wheel, which has a mini-USB port. I don't know what kind of cable to use to connect to my PC? I used several cellphone charger cables but the computer does not recognise it. Thanks!!
Stoli Posted January 16, 2018 Share Quick Google search:https://www.powertap.com/support/faqs/hubs-wheels Video instructions are available Spin the wheel/axle a couple times with the Powercap still on to "wake up" the PowercapTake Powercap off by removing the triangular nut and pulling Powercap straight off (do NOT twist)Remove the CR2032 battery from the PowercapPlug the Powercap without the battery into your computer using a micro USB cableOpen PowerAgentNavigate to Tools > Firmware > Check for Firmware UpdateClick OK to begin the firmware updateFirmware will install. With some new versions of firmware, Window OS will need to “re-find” the attached PowerCap. Let it run to completion. When PowerAgent says the update was successful, click OK and unplug PowercapWait 10 seconds, plug battery back into the PowercapInstall PowerCap back on PowerTap hub Bigjim

mecheng89 Posted January 16, 2018 Share I think the mistake I made was plug the cap into the computer while it still had the battery in.
