I dunno... Look are popular for good reason, but I went from look Keo blades, to shimano 105.. Nest move I ever made. Easy to service bearings myself, adjustable tension unlike look, nice and light in carbon, super secure, and best of all, their cleat design means you can actually walk on them when you need to without looking like Bambi on ice...

Also, they're waaaaaaaay less expensive.

I am rurrentky on 105. And must admit, nothing wrong with them.

Also had 105 pedals for over two years and they worked really well.  Look Blades just feel better for me personally.  Maybe it is the look of the pedal

The cleats are really slippery to walk any distance in if you don't have the grip cleats

Well......I was a Time guy for very very long.

Loads of float and their new Espresso pedals had a few issues in the beginning.  Made me look around and went for Look Keo Blades.

I've put around 40 000km on 2 sets now.  Not bad.  Serviced once on both sets.

Recently I discovered the pedal looking a bit worn.  This after about a year on the bike.  Read up on it and Look tend to wear a bit on the carbon.

Had a bit of a look around and yesterday decided to go with Shitmano.  As a full-on hater of Shimano I am taking a gamble on their reputation and reviews on good quality, better bearings and longer lasting pedals.

Time will tell.

  1. My newish (CRC bought) Look blade pedals are shot after a few months of riding - bearing was rough with some play.
  2. tried to open it....but destroyed / stripped the bolt (looked like a torque key slot - but was not... )
  3. Tried to use a easy out bit, but it broke off.
  4. its m@er toe now

don't think Look is the quality it used to be

Want to move over to Shimano, but like all my bikes to have the same pedals  - 3 road bikes and one monstercross bike all have Look keo pedals. Not really want to buy 4 sets now...

As a note.....

The one side has a left hand thread and the other side a right hand thread........

Also broke one off once upon a time.......

I saw the specials at CWC. Very very decent

Also.

CWC has HUGE HUGE specials on Look pedals at the moment

I suspect it is because the new ones are arriving soon and old stock must go.......

I've had a set of Shimano Dura Ace pedals on my bike for the 4 years. Many, many kms on them. They are starting to look a bit worn, but the bearings are still perfect.

They are not as light as the Look or Speedplay and probably also don't have the cool factor of those two brands, but as someone who is a big Sram fanboy and Shimano hater, these pedals are amazing. I'm pretty sure they would survive a nuclear war.

I've seen a few stores in Kzn stocking the Xpedo Thrust SL pedals. Claimed weight of 210grams retailing for around R2300.00

Always used Look. I have had both models of Keo Blade carbons. I sevice my pedals myself as well. Each to his own I'm sure. If I had to move to another brand it would probably be Time.

Ok so what is the difference between LOOK Keo Blade Ti and LOOK Keo Blade 2 Ti ??? Price diff of about R2000

I will have to trade the misses for the pedals somehow. I need a funder/banker or something
