I'm considering buying a road bike, I'm 175 cm so I'm gessing a 54 cm frame would be suitable?

I saw this Trek 1500 for sale, and I was wondering how much it would be worth, I'm trying to get an idea of how much road bikes sell for. The owner says the groupset has about 2000km on them, I have no idea whether this is alot for a road bike.

I have attached some images below.

I'm not convinced it's a 2012 model. Trek changed the way they named their models a few years earlier. So the name 1500 means is could be a 2008/9 model.

Also the 1500 was Std with Ultegra.

All this is academic anyway, if it's in good condition, R4000 will be a good price.

Thank you for everyone's inputs. How many km's does one typically get out of a chain, cassette and chainrings? How often are tyres replaced?

Last question, is this a worthwhile buy if the seller is willing to sell for R3500, or would I be better off looking at something else?

Thanks Eugene, I googled the model a bit and saw that Trek has an Archive, this is actually a model 1.5 H2(compact) 2012 model. The groupset seems to be stock.

Ride these drive train bits until they're in their absolute moer, ie jumping gears, and change everything at once and Care for it from there...

3500 seems very fair.. As above I wouldn't bother changing anything, just ride till you have to replace and then spend a little more again...
