No experience with the Garmin's but you should also look at the Assioma Favero pedals. Not sure of the price difference these days but was significant when I bought them.

I bought a set (DUO) a year ago from a local distributor and am super happy with them. Not a single issue, rechargeable, light, can be serviced, not bulky. Has similar outputs as Vectors, except maybe not on screen while riding (e.g. Garmin Cycling Dynamics has that peanut thing I believe while Assoima just gives a number for pedalling efficiency)

Check out this review. DC Rainmaker also has a long term test.

A friend lent me a pair of V2's to try out in December/January and I was really impressed with the wealth of info you get from these. Initially I didn't like seeing the pods on my cranks, but they grow on you. I didn't experience a single issue with these and the batteries lasted throughout my tests (>2000km). I use Look pedals, so they felt almost the same. They clip in well and are a solid build.

I've had withdrawal symptoms after removing them - I miss all the info, especially after getting new pair of shoes recently and wanting to ensure that the cleats are perfectly aligned.

However, I'll be spending a bit more on the V3's because the reviews are positive and they really look like regular pedals. Perhaps I'll start with the 3S, or maybe go big bang and opt for the full V3. If only they weren't that costly....

Thanks.  I will be hopefully buying a bicycle on lease and have to buy all at one supplier.  So it is Garmin V2 or bust.  They do not have V3 as then it would have been a no-brainer.

I assume the GArmin 820 will pickup the V2s?

V2 are Ant+ so the 820 will work with them

Yup. I used the exact same configuration.
