  1. The early Campagnolo EPS battery required a hole in the frame to mount the charging port. I'm not aware of many frames having this, so we had to make a plan to accommodate this. I nervously drilled a 5mm hole into a brand new Bianchi XR4 frame to mount this, check the the pic. It's 5 years, and no problems to date. It looks like the carbon is well engineered for small things like this.
  2. I've been using the 2-24Nm one for a few years now and it's been great value for money. It's paid off itself with the components I never broke through the years.
  3. I have a 100mm 25.4 stem taken from a.... De Rosa. Let me know if you're in the market or interested.
  4. Is this list published anywhere on the net?
  5. There's a sturdy bolt underneath the bracket that must be tightened when the towbar is put in place. If you tighten it properly, the skelms can't pull that out without a wrench of sorts to loosen it.
  6. +1 for UPS. They are also my international courier of choice, but some sites either don't use them or charge too much. UPS and DHL (more expensive) are the most efficient couriers I've used in SA. Anything but the post office or EMS (EMS used to be great for parcels from the east, but those days are sadly over since 2018). For all the above comments, note that I'm speaking from personal experience.
  7. SARS has tightened the screws and is putting pressure on the courier companies to inform clients of this requirement. I recently got a message from Aramex that you can only receive 3 parcels and their value may not exceed R20,000. Above that you need to apply for an import licence. Failing that, you will delay your delivery due to customs AND be liable to a fine. I've since received my fourth parcel for 2019 and no fine or penalty was imposed on my last parcel. One note though: SARS was very strict with my second parcel. They insisted on proof from my bank for the payments ($80) incurred in the purchase, and I had to wait another 2 weeks because of this. I perceive things are definitely a lot more difficult with customs now.
  8. If you're saying "soapy water" I assume it's tubeless? I've got a set of 25C wide rims and used the Schwalbe Pro One EVO TR. It's a breeze to fit on, no issues. If you're talking about normal clinchers, then I've had no issues whatsoever with the GP4000's on mine. They always fitted well (U rims, 25C clinchers).
  9. https://www.fetha.com.au/al-mounts FETHA CUSTOM MOUNTSI've bought from these guys before, they're excellent quality. You can find cheaper alternatives from China, but be sure you get a good quality item.
  10. Yup, I can confirm this too. Avoid it unless you can afford to wait up to two months. The delay is all on our side, the overseas part is fairly efficient.
  11. I've been buying from Merlin and using their UPS free courier option since 2015, and I never had an issue with this. The best delivery period was 2 days for the goods to be delivered at customs in SA, the average delivery time is 4 days. Track it online and when you know it's here, call UPS in Jhb and ask about the clearance fees. I usually do an EFT and send them confirmation of payment from my bank, and delivery happens the next day. I've had over 20 orders and never had a lost/stolen item, and delivery was always under a week.

  13. It's winter, indoor training needed. How about specials on a Tacx NEO or the Wahoo Kickr indoor trainers?
  14. Super service from Andrew and Jon. I ordered my R8000 Shimano, it was delivered within 24 hours. Works like a charm, really pleased with my purchase.
