I have been shopping and using Cycle East in Edenvale for my odds and sods and also the occasional repair .  Kelly is the owner and Thomas the bike technician , both are knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with always going out of their way . Thomas has obviously been in this business for a long time because when i chatted to  him a while back he mentioned names of riders back from the 70's . I have a Ghost Lector 2978 and the front derailleur hanger has a stripped hole to hold it to the frame . Kelly found me a second hand one but it needed the thread cleaned up which i had done but after stripping the derailleur   again it was still not correct . I collected my bike today and said its still not right but will source another one . ( Still no charge for the work done ) . I then asked about shock absorber pressure how one checks that, well to my surprise Kelly jumped on the computer and opened the  check pressure chart put my weight in and had the answer . Out came the  pressure gauge and pump to check . My back shock 40psi under pressure and front 20 psi over . He corrected it and again no charge . What a CHAMPION bunch of guys  .

I live very close to Cycle East.

I've popped in a few times to buy something but the door has always been closed.

I've never managed to see what they hold in stock etc. etc.

If I need something now I don't even bother to go there anymore.

I've spoken to the Mechanic a few times and he is a friendly and helpfull chap that seems to know a lot about bikes.

He told me that they are going to open up a big shop where the car wash used to be. It would be great to have a good LBS with reasonable prices in the area.

I've used Cycle East a few times and every time had a good experience. Pricing is very competitive and when they say your bike will be ready, they mean it.

I spoke to Kelly about holding stock on the floor and he assured me that whatever i need is just an order away so no need to overstock on certain products.

He also told me that they are planning on building a much bigger shop with a more comprehensive workshop in the near future.

More good service from Kelly and Thomas at Cycle East . I was training in the area on Tuesday and found my chain slipping when climbing hard . I popped in and had the chain changed in 5 minutes . My chain ring was also worn (8000 km) and needed changing so he ordered one immediately and promised it today . It did not arrive but took one off a new bike for me so that i could at least ride the weekend . Thanks guys you are tops . Hoping that when you move into your new shop on the corner you get better exposure from the road and support you deserve it .
