Went to Arran yesterday, he raised my saddle by 8 cm so I am really interested to see how this works when I get to ride on Saturday. Will report back next week.

He also adjusted cleats, float, saddle, was very thorough and knowledgeable, I suspect much more of a personal touch than Cycle Lab, etc and cheaper too.

I went to Hanco Kachelhoffer (Cycle fit PTA) yesterday for

my bike setup. He was very professional.

My seat position and height were changed as well as my

cleats. I would recommend him.

I will test the bike Saturday on the road.

Thanks for the help.Clap

I believe in a proper professional bike setup...you pay so much for a bike and spent a lot of time on it...so the amount you spend to go for a proper setup is nothing. If you setup is good then your riding is also more enjoyable.

I believe I have the dubious honour of being the most out of kilter setup Arran has ever had to deal with. I think 6 cm was the previous record.

Problem appears to be that when I bought my new bike last year, I took my BikeFit settings from my previous bike and used them as a benchmark to setup my new one. HUGE mistake, frame geometry totally different and the BikeFit figures were done 5 years ago. So I have been riding way too low for 5 years now and felt pretty comfortable, this is going to be a big change, but Arran has assured me I need to persist and I will see huge benefits.

Arran raised my saddle by 2cm after having ridden at the previous height since Noah and his ark. I wiped out twice at a ride in Rustenburg because I felt like I was riding on stilts. It was the most unstable position I have ever felt on a bike. Two rides later and I have become accustomed to it and can really feel the difference in power. It is not something I would have done on my own as it felt so awkward at first.

Definitely worth the bucks.

Backup is also brilliant. Bought new shoes and pedals a few weeks later and he set them up for free. ***** Service! Clap

8cm difference..??

Was your rpevious bike a BMX?

I have used the services of Dr Jeroen Swart andShan Wilson. Both setups are within mm of each other.

the biggest value is having your measurements taken correctly because this is where most people come unstuck.

Thereafter there are very common sense rules that you stick too. Still you would not know this unless you gofor a proper bike fit... Catch22

I can definatley recommend Arran.

Did my mountain bike about 6 months ago and it made a huge difference to my power and comfort, not to mention no neck and knee pain.

I was so impressed I did my road bike aswell about 2 weeks ago. its amazing how what you think your correct position is, is probably not correct until youve spend the time and money to get it properly sorted.

Well worth it!!!

Rode today for the 1st time with the new setup. Wow, what a dirrerence, not unstable at all and much more power on the hills.

Thanks Arran

This is my real bike Tongue

evanr4 if you were riding by lion and rhino park about two weeks ago I think I saw you, well your bike anway.  That blue looks awesome!

Having a proper bike setup done is one of the best things you can do, even if it is just to confirm your current setup is right.  Making a 1 degree or 3mm change here and there makes a difference in your riding, its normally only when you go back to your old setup that you really notice how much of an improvement it made.
