What get's me to have a "gemoeds-bekakking" is when exiting a building with a narrow door, and people then tend to congregate and chat at the exit, blocking everyone behind them from fluidly exiting.

Sometimes, that dude in me who wants to do all the naughty stuff tends to pop out from his dank hole, yelling at me to start pushing everyone out the way...I have not succumbed to that tactic...yet.

What peeves me off immensely, is when you are inside a Lift/Elevator, and the moment it stops on a floor and the door opens, the peeps on the outside starts getting in. You do not even have a snowballs hope in hell to get out.  :cursing:

Another pet peeve of mine closely aligned to this:

riders/lazies pushing their bikes up a technical hill IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK so that they dont have to walk in the grass or get their toes stubbed on the rocks

For me, thats the height of selfishness...

If they respond to a light bell-ringing or holla in advance of you getting to them, then all is forgiven.

But if they pretend to 'not hear', as Stevief said "GTF outoftheway" or expect an elbow in your side... no stopping for a chitchat

Ou Wapad climb in K2C comes to mind. I eventually tired of the antics of the idiots walking a perfectly rideable section last year, mounted my steed, and started riding up the right-hand side yelling at people to "GTF outoftheway", and accompanied that with "if you can't ride here, sign up for skills, or give up riding MTB".

I was quite taken aback by the amount of people who hastily cleared the path ahead of me. I even managed a PB going up there.

Tactics for this year sorted!

Good tactic for Ou Wapad, Get yourself a "referees whistle", and just keep on blowing it when you get behind the walkers. Less effort than shouting, and you'll be amazed to see how quickly they make a path for you.

Hi all.

I need expert hubber advice.

It happens frequently that we encounter newbie riders standing in the middle of the trail chatting away or just standing there for no apparant reason. My wife who is quite new to riding has gotten hurt on two occasions not being able to pass said people. Any advice on the above problem would be welcome - I suppose everybody has the same right to use the trail but it has upset me one too many time.

Would a bicycle bell work in your opinion and if so what type/make is recommended.

I just ride, when my handlebar catches them on / under the ribs or my elbow smacks them accidentally they think twice about doing it again.

**** happens, theres no pills for stupid... only pain.

Thank's for al the suggestions and replies. I normally just pass if I want to but the other half is inexperienced and one needs to build confidence, not spook them.

Stupid question; why are they in front of you? If it is a race then improve your seeding if not go with the flow and chat to them and enlighten them.

I a race if you have a k@k seeing it is for a a reason, then just accept you lot and be nice.
