Non what so ever . Some drivers are just to ignorant to realise that passing a cyclist too close is dangerous . We had a case on Sunday morning when a female driver came past my partner and i at high speed and so close that we were sucked towards the car .

I think it is a start, and a positive one at that.

It is also better than nothing, and I will take that thank you very much.

If this passes as law, there are is also less "wiggle room" for motorists who appear in court because of driving into cyclists.

Keep adding layer after layer of protection for cyclists.

I think it'll need a lot more publicity than Businesstech. Alas, nobody reads newspapers anymore (their loss) and it'll just get lost in the big, bad internet. However! At least it's there in writing when the court cases come up. They should detail the fines and punishments.

errrm.... physics doesn't support that (afaik). I appreciate there may have been the sensation of moving toward the car, but it's not because of a low pressure region between rider and vehicle, which is what would cause something to be 'sucked' toward an object. Media reports tend to use this kind of wording, but it's nothing more than for dramatic effect, rather than a summary of scientific fact.
