As another hubber mentioned...check out South Industries. Quality and service from Nico and team is tops!

Quite a few of our top athletes racing with SI's.

South 29 XC or CSixx XCM on DT 240s.

Although if you managed to make Race 29 rims last, the Crest should be fine - just make sure you go 32H.

Pillar and Sapim make the lightest spokes currently available locally - Sapim you can get from South if you order your wheels from them, and Pillar will come on the CSixx wheels - or you can get the Pillar on their own if you want to go Stans - the local distributor keeps pretty good stock.

I would love to support local. But both the CSixx and South rims are quite expensive. But I'll review my options closer to the time. But if I could I would totally build myself a Wheelset with CSixx rims or just buy the XCM series 9 Wheelset. (one can dream)

Considering I bought the American classics for sub 10K I would hope it's possible to maybe build something for around that price. But I'll review my options closer to the time. They're not really more expensive than any other brand, definitely less than the 'name' brand imports. As far as Csixx goes they carry a good warranty process including on exhaust damage and are pretty bombproof. Carbon will always cost more unfortunately, hearing that Csixx will be releasing some alloy options soon which will be more pocket friendly.

As pictured, R8788....

R900 of that is labour.

DT Swiss double butted spokes, brass nipples, Hope Pro4 hubs and Spank rims. Includes rim tape.

What's the weight on a set with brass nipples?32 spokes?
