Aurora Posted October 11, 2018 Share Rode pieces of the route this last weekend. The section from Camperdown to Hillcrest is full of potholes and pieces of road works around the fast downhill corners so be careful.

Vetplant Posted October 12, 2018 Share If anyone has left their bike transport too late: I am driving down from Pretoria on Saturday morning 7AM and back to Pretoria on Sunday after the race. I have space for 1 bike on my bike rack. I am stopping at PMB to drop my bike there and then proceeding to Durban where we are sleeping at one of the Tsogo hotels. If you can make a contribution for fuel I will be happy to give your bike a lift. Send me a PM.

Dazshell Posted October 12, 2018 Share For anyone wanting to do the annual spin out to Breakers in Umhlanga (±35kms) on Saturday, East Coast Cycling will be leaving Suncoast Casino at 6:00am. Everyone welcome to join in and get into the "spirit" of Amashova. Breakfast/Coffee at Pirates Lifesaving Club after the ride. shova Posted October 13, 2018 Share Hi Dean, you can advertise your entry on our facebook page - there are cyclists without entries looking for substitution entries. Once you have the details of the person that wants to substitute you can email queries@cycleevents.co.za and they will explain the process. thanks!Does anyone know how to do substitutions? Entered my dads friend who has been to busy so he’s withdrawn and need to now sell his entry. It’s for the 106km.

Opc_danny Posted October 14, 2018 Share If you are riding your first Amashova, here is my video of last year’s event to get you acquainted with the route. https://youtu.be/qUcQujsMooo Is there a neutral zone in the start cause it must be one of the most chilled starts I have seen in a race. Lovely footage

Lovely footageYour perception is correct, it is a very chilled start, also caught me off guard. Definitely not a neutral start, but people might be bracing themselves for Fox, which is very close to the start.

Fruity Posted October 14, 2018 Share Fox Hill really isn't that bad. I have a mate who moved himself and his family to Europe in the past year, the same mate who introduced me to mtb in '08. He used to say how Fox Hill was a section of the route to be weary of. In 2012, for me it was Inchanga, Drummond and Bothas Hill that gave my legs an eina.
