strange timing, why not a couple of weeks ago or after this weekend.

Because we want to win the game this weekend  :w00t:

The more I think about it, the more this Super League is weighted very nicely for the English clubs...

a top 7 place likely getting you the equivalent of Champions League? I would just suggest, it's only the top 5 placed in the Super league who stay up each year, with the 6th team having a play-off with the next best team in the league... so in theory, potentially two teams changing each year in the Super League.

[emoji599][emoji599]| Every club that joins the European Super League will receive over $425M just for accepting the invitation. @nytimes #rmalive

Yeah, total financial game changer - and that money will trickle down into the league etc - make no mistake. If they can come up with a plan that makes the comp more accessible to other teams then I can really get on board with things. The whole golden ticket for life thing is probably all that still bothers me... but I'm sure a bit more balance can be found. Or at the very least, this can be a nice big stick to beat the bureaucrats with...

Some time ago I posted how it would work exactly (was a diagram of some sorts) but I am not sure if it still the same..

There is real incentive to get there IMO

Would like to see a the final structure of it

And all the various financial partners if it were to happen of course.

What is the cost to run one of these top clubs?

Does it actually cover all their expenses?

A shite load..

And I don't think their other sponsors will run away either.. Brand's will continue to be linked with them... Much bigger share in revenue too..

The question though.. How many of the current CL sponsors will remain if this were to go ahead.

Good question. IIRC the clubs are all in the red. All have large loans and when man united played chelsea in the CL final there was an article about their debt at the time. It was alleged that between the 2 of them they wetre 1.5 billion pounds in the red.

I’m not so sure...

Maybe I’m hoping for “New Manager Syndrome”

Rumour mill has it jose was fired because he opposed the super league concept.

Jose only joins a club for the settlement he'll receive when he inevitably gets fired.. Doubt he particularly cares about the other stuff. [emoji6] Edited by Gen

CL knockout stages has pretty much (not always obviously ) been the super league in any case.
