Is this the usual cedaberg 100 miler or another event?

I recall another 100 miler event in the area as well, or possibly the same one.

As an aside.

Google of cedeberg 100 miler brings this up ..

Okes, just a question or 3 in terms of organisation (and trying to get Mrs Slowbee to do this).

Any single track ? Anything technical ?

Is it mostly gravel roads?

Also the route, does it go past the Algeria cottages? Cant really tell from the route on the website.

No single track, district gravel roads, however the klimb out of Wuppertal makes it unsuitable for gravel bikes and a proper MTB is recommended. But from what I can gather it is nothing technical.

Yes it goes past Algeria on the way back to Clanwilliam.

oh ok.So we do the pakhuis pass first ..... now it makes sense. Lovely campsite at the top of the pakhuis pass. great walks and rock scrambling up there.

We are going to stay at Algeria, and the Mrs will need to get back to the cottage after dropping me off at the start.

And trust me .. aint NO single way I am doing this on a gravel bike. Soft plush dual suspension ALL the way.

well-chosen cassette and route-appropriate legs and you'll be fine I think...

Okes, just want to confirm, does the 2 day trek follow the same route as the one day ?

From the maps it looks kinda like an out and back ride along the same route?

It does look like the 2 day is there and back along the 2nd half of the 1 day missing out Pakhuis Pass and Wupperthal and Esselbank.  Have driven the routes in 4WD but not ridden them, but would say that this 1st leg was the highlight so missing out on a lot on the 2 day.

I wont be signing up for a 156km as don't need that much pain in a day but would be tempted by the same route over 2 days.
