The woman spesific bikes generally have a two other differences other than the paint job, the handlebars are a bit more narrow and the seat is a bit wider (or female spesific).

Can you please tell me which one has the best overall specs ? Don’t mind paying 500 more if that one is the better one.

I would go with the 5 (R4500) it has the better spec. Hydraulic disc brakes vs cable disc brakes on the 7 and the other parts of the 5 is also little better.

if you are looking around that budget maybe have a look at the Cannondale trail 5 Makro bought all the old stock and selling for only R4500 brand new and for a beginner there's nothing even gonna come close. Have a look on the forums there's a whole discussion on it.

This seems to be the better deal compared to the Liv you posted Demicat.

The Liv has a 3x8 entry level groupset, the Trail 5 the same groupset but 3x9. From personal experience, its not awfully hard to find parts for 3x9's, but 3x8 could be a different story.

For your own safety and peace of mind, you may want to read up a little bit about hydraulic disc brakes for future reference, like potential hazards if you store it upside down/upright, if you press the brake with the wheel out, etc.

Thank you guys ! I really appreciate every bit of advice ???? If I don’t get an email reply from them by tomorrow,I’ll call them.

Titan ?

Merida ?

Silverback ?

Speak to your local bikeshop .... see which of these brands they stock.  Then ask for a model in the range with a similar specification to the components on the Canondale you looked at ....

So Titan isn’t too bad ? Heard something about the bikes (titans) at sportsman’s warehouse not being the best idea.

I didn’t think of comparing the specs thank you. The nearest bike shop doesn’t keep a lot of bikes on site, but you can order almost anything.

Of these three brands I would say Silverback may be the better option.

I have owned an entry level Merida, and still have a slightly better Merida.  Pretty decent bikes, for the price.

Titan has been the "entry level" bike for a few years.  BUT, they have been improving steadily, sponsoring some racers.  And many kids now ride Titan's and these bikes take the punch ...  Maritz (our 7 year old) is currently on a Titan.  Let's just say I am pleasantly surprized .... his previous bike was a Momsen.

SURE, the Momsen is a good bike ... but is is 2 or 3 times as good ??  R3700 for the 24'' Titan, R11k if you want the "better" spec 24'' Momsen !!  Cheap air shock on the Momsen, for the rest the SAME components, just a slightly lighter frame .... and once you start worrying about the weight this can quickly become a very expensive hobby !

BUT - any bike is only as good as the assembly !!!!!

Rather pay a few rand more for the same bike from a bike shop, in the hope that they assembled it properly.  Ride it for a few weeks, then take it back so that they give it a "once over" - most bike shops include this in their price.  Now they can make sure that everything is properly tightened, lubed and alligned ....

Thank you so much ! I hear that the silverback strides are a bit too “entry level”.

I’m going to need something rather strong, but with the right (size)bike I don’t think I’ll fall as much or as bad.

I wish I had the guts I had when I was 7 ! I had a bmx bike and using our steep yard was soooo much fun. Tried to see how close I could get downwards to the gate. Or a tree.
