Sram Guide vs. Level disk brakes

I am having to replace my brakes on my mountain bike and have deceided to go with SRAM.

My quandary is between Guide Ulitmate and Level Ultimate.

 

Can I please have some advice!!

Hi

If you over 85kg, I would go with the Guides... More stopping power.

And don't be afraid to upsize your rotors.

 

I changed from XTR to Guid Ult. with 180mm rotors and never looked back, but I'm 95kg and the XTR overheated.

The Guide is a more powerful and a little heavier. The lever shape is also different between Guide and Level.

Guide is 4 piston

Level is two piston.

 

Of the two the Guide has better modulation across a widerperformance envelope.

Unless the weight saving is important to you, get the Guide brakes
