Grateful that all the injured are healing up well!

Even though this just happened over the weekend, made the radio news slots etc. I just drove past  gentleman on a silverback mtb, riding on the M4 between Broadway and Virginia offramp. Now this to me is just reckless, morning traffic is flowing fast at 100km/h, and there is a perfectly useable cycling lane on Fairway drive that runs parallel to this section all the way to Umhlanga, yet this guy is quite happy to ride illegally. To me there is no justifiable reason for this to happen!

to add something here....on ANY PUBLIC ROAD,can we as cyclists respect the fact that motorists are also using this road so RIDE IN SINGLE FILE.Just helps all concerned i think.Even in the suburbs as well.

Are you riding a bicycle now?

If somebody could get this message out to the joggers as well that would be great...

This morning, two ladies running side by side in the road against the flow of traffic (as they should be) having a lekker chat, but an approaching steel and plastic projectile weighing in at just under 2 tons was no cause for concern for them.... I even got a "look" when I went around them!

So glad the riders are ok....I ride this route often with my club, and regularly see the Batislan guys out, they always in single file.....did you guys have a follow car with you on Sunday?

Yes, we did have a follow car but it just stopped to give someone water. it was a few hundred meters behind the group

That is spectacularly unlucky timing!
