Cut out most of the N7!  That's what made this race unique

tbh I prefer the challenge of V Schoors terrible surface and quick little climbs over the easy smooth riding of the N7. Always the spot that shatter the group and shake off the wheel suckers

True but I don't mind getting drop there as much as it is basically right at the finish and the law of Physics determines that I can't compete with 60kg midgets on such a steep climb anyway. Getting dropped on V Schoors far worse to my ego.

Pity they are cutting out most of the N7... that Van Schoors Road is as rough as hell!  Like a corrugated roof in sections.  I recall reading reports after this year's race that too many riders were riding far out into the car lane on the N7 - and that the traffic authorities would never allow a cycle race there again for that reason.

Does the 2019 race finish near the top of Odendaal Rd...or lower down?  I wonder...  It doesn't look like much of a rise at the very end according to that profile above. Whereas with past route profiles the Odendaal rise at the end was very distinct.
