Kids on the front seat, the law?

yeah even the XC90 that is a huge vehicle is not wide enough to put 3 baby seats next to each other.

Replying to my own post, but something I just thought about.

The XC90 can come with an optional booster seat. So the middle seat in the second row turns into a booster seat. This allows the fitment of normal baby seats on the 2 outer positions and still have room for a slightly older todler in a booster seat.

The XC60 they've done slightly different, this you can get with optional booster seats on the 2 outer seats in the second row.

Kids strapped into an appropriate baby chair on the front seat, with the airbags definitely turned off is something I can tolerate if there is really no other way. But really, you need to them put plans in place to enable yourself to rectify the situation ASAP.

But kids that are not strapped in at all or strapped into the front seat while there is perfectly ample space at the back is all just asking for trouble.

A good friend from varsity has a sister who is permanently paralyzed from a motor accident she was in as a child while not strapped it. The rest of the people in the car didn't even have bruises, so minor was the accident.

This is my personal stance, don't want to judge other people, you do you.

I just wont be able to live with myself if my child is paralyzed because I didn't want to be the adult in the situation and ensure their full safety.

From what age can that middle booster seat be used from?

What makes me really angry is seeing parents sitting with their toddler/baby on their lap on the front seat and an empty car chair in the back seat.

About a week ago I was riding behind a woman in her big SUV and I see the back of a little white haired head in the front seat and it looked like this toddler was standing on the seat leaning onto the dashboard. Both my son and I got angry and said if they got into an accident that kid would be dead. She turn left at the next road and it was her maltese poodle[emoji15].

We still have so many doff parents in town so I assumed it was a kid because I see stupid parents driving all the time.

Also.. secure your pets too

We have two of these for our dogs, then they have harnesses on(not collars).

In Germany it is illegal to drive with dogs in a car that are not secured in some or other way.  You either have to have them in the back of a station wagon with a secure net that prevent them from flying forward into the main "cabin" or you need to have a specific cage that is either secured on the seat or in the back of the station wagon or you must have a secure belt that clips into the safetybelt clip (as posted by LWB).  Reason is that when you are in an accident, that dog could kill the occupants (or seriously injure) as it gets thrown around.
