What to do

My Ellsworth Truth (legend bike of its time) is just hanging in my garage. Collecting dust and taking up space. With no market for 26" large frames I considered making it a jump bike. Which worked to an extent, but the XC geometry and suspension doesn't really allow for this.

Donate? Happy with this option, but then at least it must go to someone that can look after it.

Sell parts? Probably most profitable. But then you still sit with a frame that gives you the eye when you walk past it.

Ideas?

Tough one.

If you donate the bike, I'm sure you'll feel better about yourself, and feel that you've done your good deed for the day.

If you sell the parts, your bank balance might feel better.

Or just ride it. Sure you arent going to win any races on a 26in XC bike, but it would still be one hell of a commuter, and it still works nicely on trails, even if its not as "fast" as a 29er or 27.5.

Unless you really really need the money, or the space on the wall. I would just keep it and use it.

Hi Borriz

I have a friend who has a cracked 26" merida and he cannot afford to replace, he had it repaired but cracked again, in PE area.

So if you want to donate it I can pm you his info

If you do end up donating it, be sure to supply some paperwork to the new owner in case he is mistakenly accused of being in the possession of stolen property...
