Hi,

I have a 2016 Specialized Fuse Expert.

Runs 650B tyres which are 3" wide.

Also has a inverted crown fork, from Manitou.

Love the bikes, but I am strugling to find a mud guard that will fit onto it...

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Your tyres arent the issue, pretty much any standard mudguard is wide enough to fit 3" tyres. The inverted fork however....

Why don't you take a 3 liter milk bottle (Woolies sells them) and use that to cut one out for yourself? The curve are already there, you just need patience and a steady hand. Plenty of videos on Youtube on how to make them...

From what I see. The Manitou mudguards just have holes further back than the regular ones. Not sure about the Fatty ones. Punch some new holes

Well I guess the easiest thing to do then it to take a standard cSixx one and punch new holes in it. That is if you can't just buy a Manitou one.

Maybe even give cSixx a call and ask them to send you one without any holes punched in the middle - that way you aren't left with any extra unwanted holes. Pretty sure they would oblidge....

I did, but it tapered the mud guard and starting touching the top of my tyre...

So much, that It doesn't even allow the tyre to spin freely.

I humbly disagree, because try as I may, the tyre rubs on the mudguard...

But your suggestion on the DIY option is maybe worth a try.

Only downside is a white mudguard!?! Hehehehehe.

Must be the shape of the crown on the fork then because I've been using standard mudguards on 2.8" - 3.0" tyres for more than 2 years now without issues.

But yeah... give the DIY option a go. Cheap and easy.

Buy yourself a cheap placemat in the colour of your choice at your closest Crazy store.

Terminology police:

Manitou's design is a reverse arch, not an inverted fork.

An inverted fork is something like an RS1, Manitou Dorado or Maverick DUC.

As you were.
