RogM Posted February 1, 2019 Share Hi guys So my Momsen STR 29 frame is stripped, and nearly ready for priming. But, a couple of questions: 1) I would like to remove the shifter cable ends from the down tube and chainstay. I see these are brazed on, but I imagine I should rather cut, grind and sand, than remove by heating? 2) There is no shifter cable end on the seat tube, for the FD.. any advice? TIA Cheers
PeterF Posted February 1, 2019 Share Doesn't it sit near the BB shell as it looks like the front derailleur cable runs down the down tube and under the BB shell. Edited February 1, 2019 by PeterF RogM
RogM Posted February 1, 2019 Share Thanks PeterF I don't see anything there, where I thought it would have been.I would rather route it from the top anyway..
Butterbean Posted February 1, 2019 Share Cut using an angle grinder if you're familiar enough with it, or use a hacksaw but keep it straight.. Either way, leave yourself some material so you don't cut into the tube by accident File, then sand the excess down until she's smooth.
