Sepia Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Hi AllI am having ongoing problems with my Garmin 1030.Within 5 months of using it, it has been in three times for inspection and have received a new replacement.The new unit is worse than the original. Switches on and off during a rideUnable to follow a coursePhone does not connectCadence intermittentDistance intermittentUnable to set the screens for the menu I require as it changes back every time it switches off. I expected the thing to at least work properly after the replacement. Pay premium price for this?Just hope Garmin can fix the darn thing. Anybody else having difficulties with the 1030?

DieselnDust Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I went through 4 or 5,Edge 1000 units before they gave me a 1030.It very seldom gives me issues but when it does I have to soft reset to get it working. Garmin and reliable GPS in the same sentence can't be used
LongDonkey Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 My 1030 edge stopped working during rides as well, always the same two places. Was near power lines and the start of a segment. Took it in and they said it was a battery prob and gave me a new one. I am feeling Garmin are releasing products too early without checking them first. Between me and the three guys who sit next to me a work, we are about to bankrupt them with all the warranty claims we have submitted.Somthing 'aint right with Garmin right now.The rest of your problems do not sound lekker. Not had those thankfully. Keep sending the broken ones in and ask if there is a design fault!
Sepia Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 I agree. I have had three in 5 months. All with very little use so something must be up with Garmin or the units. Too unreliable for my use (Cash back if it happens again.)

LongDonkey Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Me : Garmin 1030 x 1 replacement, Mate 1 : Garmin Forerunner 935 1 replacement on altitude errors, Mate 2 : Forerunner 935 replacement on heart rate, Another mate on 935 as well (i think) error on altitude as well.Hope it comes right as this is a little worrying.

One of my Edge 1000 units was trouble free for 12months and 2 weeks then boooom it stopped working. Screen went weird, stop started all the time.The next three all failed within 6 months.I sometimes ENVE my pals who have Sigma ROX11.0 and 12.0 units as well as WAHOO ELEMENT or BOLTS. They just seem to push the start buttons and forget about the unit
