Un Calibrated wrench operator is more like it.

I DO prefer a proper torque wrench, fully adjustable etc ....

But with the level of skill out there the Ritchey unit is almost fail safe ....

Okay, so my wife went back with my bike just now.

The tech from the workshop is convinced that there is a defect on the batch they received and will be sending it back to the agents.

They installed a 3rd brand new stem - this time a different brand which according to them is better - PRO LT.

Hope this solves my problem.

Thank you all for your valuable input. I will revert back should the issue occur again - if it does I will definitely ask back my money and go elsewhere.

Your lbs has pulled the wool over your eyes. I really hope that their solution works out for you.

Be safe out there

Yeah man, it's tough not having the required knowledge - but I am learning and would know better next time around.

Not always - Renthal stems case in point.

The bar clamp design here is such a smart and simple solution.

It makes far more sense than most other stems that just clamp the bar perpendicular to the steerer. I had an Answer stem which also had a similar offset type design to the bar clamp.

But this Renthal is just better.

Next time you need to make any adjustments or do any services send me a pm I will help you get your bike sorted, even if I do it myself and show you in the process

Like Ritchey has been doing for years.

Hahaha is cycle lab the new cagees?

You really need to insist that they replace the bars too.. Even if there is no visible damage, if they've cranked the stem down that hard, there must be some serious fatigue on the bars themselves.
