So, looking at doing this race this year. The only question I have is where to stay? What's experience of staying around sun city and getting into the start in the morning? Any tips as where to stay and so on?

We camped at Bakgatla last year. Drove through after work on the Friday and broke camp up before the race on Sunday.

 

Have also driven through on the morning of from Pta. No issues to get in or get parking.

Havn't done this race for years, but we used rent a chalet at Bakgatla. Never bothered with Sun City and valley of the waves, we used to go back after the race and braai and chill out by the pool. They have an entrance to the game reserve as well if you wanna do a game drive. Its about 35 km from Sun City lekka weekend for the family

Been many years since I did the race.

Used to stay at a place in rustenburg and drive through.

Once tried a place just down the road from sun city (rustenberg direction), can’t recall the name, something like sundown lodge, it was terrible.

Have stayed at cabanas at sun city before too.
