snapped barrel adjuster - HELP

So I am trying to index my gears properly on the wahoo kickr 4. Went to adjust the tension slightly and the plastic barrel adjuster snapped off where it goes into the rear derailleur. How would I go about getting the old thread out of the mech and are those parts readily available?

Getting the broken bit out shouldn't a problem.  You just need to take the derailleur off and then a little bit of patience to unscrew it. Your LBS should have a few bits and bobs lying around.

Pictures of bacon would be great too  :P

Ok, so I am a retard. It turns out the plastic bit that I thought was broken was justa sleeve for the metal bit that was the actual adjuster. I discovered this after removing the flywheels so I could get the mech off and then spent a lovely couple of minutes trying to put it back together again. all in all it was not my most shining moment.

:D Yes, the plastic thing is often just there to make it easier to turn with your fingers. The metal bit underneath often has a rough knurled surface, so it still gives grip, it is just smaller, but as long as you can get it turned without too much trouble, it will work just the same. Many older derailleurs never had the plastic thing anyway.

A few more exercises like this and you will be a bike mech.  That is how I started.

The adjusters are available form most bike shops and I see that Rapide stock them if need online.  Campy is a problem as they use a finer thread than Shimano.

Fixed it for you  ;) because Campy cannot ever be "a problem"

Think of it as a learning moment!

Was one of those. "Wait, its not broken, that bit goes in there. omfg what have I done" moments, what with my rear mech sitting in pieces in front of me on the floor.

The nice thing if you have Campy, is that you know it is designed to be taken apart and re-built. With Shimano, some parts should not be taken apart, and if you DO manage to take them apart, they cannot be put together again.
