Can this be Repaired?

Hi Hubland

 

Need to ask those in the know if the below (as per pic) can be repaired.

 

It is a carbon aero post and the carbon section has lifted where the rear saddle bolt is.

I can't see how that could fail any further than that? There is probably enough "meat" for the bolt to pull against, and then saddle rails doesn't come near there.

 

I just would have carried on riding. Maybe just superglue it down for aesthetics, but otherwise, keep on trucking.

Graeme Kidson will be able to sort that out easily - seen him do much more intricate repairs.

So Carbon Bike Repairs indicated that they do not feel this safe to repair as they are unable to get the strength back into that area.

 

Will give Graeme a shout and see what he has to say.
