During our recent trips we encountered many apparently on brights, totally blinding oncoming traffic .... flash them and they light the skies as they switch to brights ....Yup, Couple of years ago now but I was one of those transgressors couldn't understand why the driver in front of me was getting so agitated - until the penny dropped!

Think we were all there at one time or another .... especially those of us that started driving long before all these extras became available ... I am fortunate. We live in a cul-de-sac, and it is easy for us to line up the lights and adjust it. I am used to setting my dims lower than required for normal use. So now I dont need to re-adjust when the bikes are loaded. The bit the light shines "short" on dim is not an issue. I use brights when there are no other vehicles, and with other vehicles lights the short dims are perfect.
lyslexic Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Have a look at the Saris Bones bike rack - https://www.bicyclepower.co.za/product-category/non-tow-ball-mounted-racks/ Started off with a Thule boot rack. 3K of damage to boot, Thule's solution to this was to laugh at the damage it caused, and suggest a roof rack Switched over to the bones 3, used it over many years, and it was awesome. Zero damage to the cars. Longest trip was jhb to cpt. Also used it on 4 different cars, all with the same result. Only reason I sold it was that it was not compatible with my new car.

Again, its like the use of lightboards. People couldn't give 2 s#!ts, its all about them in their little bubble and screw the rest....... But we are going off topic.I am possibly selling my 2 roof mounted Thule racks, the freeride models.Used but with all the keys. R2200 for both if anybody here is keen, yet to advertise them........
